General Information on Undergraduate Program
The Political Science and International Relations program is a comprehensive undergraduate program designed to combine a thorough understanding of the disciplines of Political Science and International Relations, with progressively greater emphasis on specialist and in-depth knowledge demanded in certain fields of study..The PSIR program aims to provide a broad and inter-disciplinary understanding of contemporary politics and international relations, including core courses in International History; the History of Political Thought; Comparative Politics; War and Peace Studies, Social, Political and International Theory; Public Law, including Public International Law; International Political Economy, and International Organizations,.
Upon this foundation, elective courses are offered allowing students to develop research, analytical and presentational skills in specialist fields of study including political economy, area studies, development studies, conflict studies, gender studies, as well as historical and policy studies. The program additionally develops study and research skills which furnish students with a critical ability to undertake life-long learning.
