Course Content

This course presents an introduction to the experimental studio. Students will explore various approaches to contemporary art problems by working with a range of media. Each week there will be eight scheduled hours in the studio in that time students will be able to work in consultation with the instructor. In addition, the course is based on lectures, working in the classroom and critique of the works in progress. During the first few weeks, a number of contemporary art projects will be assigned to the students, and they will be critiqued by students when they are completed. The projects are designed to develop students practical and technical skills in fine arts by using diverse materials and different methods. While working on their initial projects, students will begin their majör structural project with the instructor`s assistance. While students are experiencing a variety of techniques in artistic practices and methods, they will gain general knowledge of the history of art and contemporary art. Finally, students will learn not only the creative fields of art and the global organization of contemporary art, but also they will develop their presentation skills.
