Course Content

This course explores the mathematical theory of Optimal Control applied to Partial Differential Equations (PDEs). It covers the formulation of optimal control problems involving PDEs. as well as the analytical and numerical methods for solving these problems. Students will study the conditions for optimality. the use of variational calculus. and solution techniques for linear and nonlinear PDE-constrained optimization problems. The course also introduces advanced topics in sensitivity analysis and numerical methods for optimal control problems in engineering and applied sciences.
