Course Content

The course covers the mathematical foundations of bilinear pairings (Weil, Tate, Ate) and their efficient computation, followed by detailed study of pairing-based protocols such as identitybased encryption, attribute-based encryption, and short signature schemes like BLS. It includes formal security proofs, explores key attack vectors like MOV reduction and side-channel attacks, and addresses practical implementation challenges including parameter selection and optimization. Real-world applications and case studies round out the course, preparing students to design and deploy secure, efficient pairing-based cryptosystems.
