Course Content

Food safety refers to the practices during the handling, processing and distribution of food to ensure that contaminants that can cause foodborne illnesses are not present. Food safety is an important aspect since it ensures the protection of the health and safety of consumers from any food-related issues. Therefore, the education of the students about food safety and the food supply chain which aims to protect students from food poisoning and foodborne illnesses that can affect their life and academic performance is vitally important. The importance is much more significant when the potential of contaminated food as a bio-terror material for today and the near future is considered. For this reason, the main target and the content of the lesson is the creation of consciousness to supply healthy and safe food for students and their families in the community. Educating and training them about food decontamination methods, food- borne diseases, and illnesses.
