Course Content
This course introduces basic principles and concepts of Qualitative Research in the social sciences. Students will be acquainted with several methods of data collection such as interviews, focus groups, and media analysis. They will also get to know several methods of data analysis, such as qualitative content analysis, narrative analysis, and discourse analysis. Introduction to qualitative research design, mixed methods design, and using multimodal and natural data in psychological research are some of the topics to be covered. The course will provide students with a ‘hands-on’ experience, working on a self- developed research project which will demonstrate the diversity of methodological approaches in the social sciences and their application to particular research questions and research designs.
