Course Content
This course extends students understanding of macroeconomics.It discusses certain concepts and phenomena that are not covered in ECO 202(Intermediate Macroeconomics). It focuses on the determinants of consumption and investment, the real business-cycle theory, and the topics related to government spending and its financing. Following this theoretical background, the course also introduces contemporary discussions in macroeconomics, such as macroeconomic consequences of unconventional monetary policies, the link between unemployment and household credits, and the dynamics of the current internationalmonetary/financial system.
