In addition to the theoretical lectures, the students are encouraged to conduct basic experiments using the mesocosm facility and the harbor at METU Erdemli campus. Overall topics including: (i) compafison of observational and experimental approaches in ecology; (ii) early and contemporary examples from the literature; (iii) Experimental design; (iv) statistical techniques and (v) ethical considerations will be covered during the lecture.
