Course Content

This course focuses on marine coastal eutrophication as one of the most important environmental problem for decades. Students will learn main soruces and impacts of eutrophicatoin, Nutrient levels, Direct and indirect effects of nutrient enrichments, Oxygen depletion (Plankton respiration), Algal blooms. Furthermore, students will learn how to use Eutrophication assesment tools, indexes and trend analysis. Related EU and National regulations will also be discussed to provide management of eutrophication in Turkish Seas.
