Course Content

Operations security is primarily concerned with the protection and control of information processing assets. Security operations, on the other hand, are primarily concerned with the day to day operations required to keep security services operating. Asset Security contains the concepts, principles, structures, and standards used to monitor and secure assets and those controls used to enforce various levels of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Identity and access controls are the collection of mechanisms, processes, or techniques that work together to protect the assets of an organization and unauthorized access. In that respect, Security Operations Center management and Incident Response issues have high importance to actively engage security incidents, especially for enterprise size organizations. In addition, the concepts of business continuity planning (BCP) and disaster recovery planning (DRP) are required to ensure continuity of functions related to business and IT continues under major disruptions that an organization may face.
