History of US policy towards Latin America in nineteenth century, Monroe Doctrine, US-Mexican War, US-Spanich War, New Colonialism and US interventionsim, Good Neighbor Policy, US view of Latin America in the Cold War, war against communism, free trade, war against drugs and issue of illegal immigration after the Cold War, alternatives to US hegemony in Latin America and `21th century socialism`.
