Course Content

This course provides the theories, methodologies and ethnographic studies on sex and gender in Asia and Pacific. Using an interdisciplinary survey of gender and feminist critiques we will analyze dominant power over women and other vulnerable populations, and the intersections between race, ethnicity, class and gender in the region. We focus on cross-cultural perceptions of linkages between sex and gender and the relationship of gender ideology to women`s and men`s status.
