Course Content

This course is intended for graduates of different disiplines who wish to increase their understanding of the unemployment policy process. Focus will be on the impact of globalisation on unemployment policy. Topics such as : theories of the causes of unemployment, analyzing the activities of EU governments, in particular the policies of the welfare state; and types and varieties of unemployment concerning gender, different age groups and skill and qualification levels; sociological understanding of the impact of unemployment in everyday life of the actors, will be covered in the course. Course also aims to discus the social, economic and political framework of Turkey, by focusing on the role allocation of the (labour) market, the state and family related to unemployment.
