Course Content

Discrete stochastic processes, renewal theory; countable-state Markov processes; stochastic convergence, ergodicity. Queueing systems: M/M/1, M/G/1, G/M/1 queues, Little’s Law, Kingman’s bound for G/G/1 systems, Jackson networks. Analysis of multiple access schemes such as slotted ALOHA. Advanced topics such as processor sharing, effective bandwidth.
