Course Content

This course explores science education theories, practices and new perspectives in informal learning settings. Students will review the informal learning setting and teaching practices in light of related literature. Students will experience variety of informal learning settings and their impacts on science learning. Students will be encouraged to develop projects and activities to implement teaching practices in informal settings to reach the learning outcomes stated in national science education curriculum for middle school students. Science learning and teaching will be structures around sociocultural perspectives on knowing and learning, cognitive and educational psychology, teaching and learing science out of school contexts, media and future demands enhance science learning.
