Course Content

Creative non-fiction is a combination of literature and real life. We all have stories to tell — about ourselves, the lives of others and the world around us. In this class, you will learn how to tell your own story in your own way. We will explore the theory and practice of creative nonfiction by reading and writing in a variety of forms, including list essay, memoir, travel writing and personal essay. Meanwhile, we will also learn the core elements of nonfiction, such as voice, character, point of view and scene.
