Course Content

In any economy, the intensity of innovative activities is one of the main indicators of technical change. Those attempts should materialise in the product chain in the context of competitive pressures prevalent both in the national and international markets. In this framework, the course aims at mapping issues such as the study of long-run competitiveness, knowledge accumulation, and policy making combined with a holistic understanding of innovation. This course surveys a range of topics in the area of economics of innovation and technological change in the context of development, including the economics of the innovative activities, the contribution of innovation and research to economic growth, and the influence of market structure and competitive environment on the production of innovations tehnology diffusion.
