Course Content

This course introduces the fundamentals of technology entrepreneurship and innovation management. Topics include the entrepreneurial mindset, causation and effectuation, opportunity generation versus opportunity creation, innovation management and the innovativeness index, idea and market validation, startup marketing (4Ps/7Ps, the SAVE model), entrepreneurial finance (balance sheet, cash-flow, income statement, sales forecasting), human resources and leadership in startups, business model design, growth and exit strategy, and basic project management. The course provides a foundational, minor-track introduction to innovation and entrepreneurship for graduate students from technical and scientific backgrounds.
