Course Content
The course will introduce students to various problems in celestial mechanics and their solutions with particular emphasis on numerical techniques. It will also prepare the interested students for advanced under-graduate level study in celestial mechanics and/or chaotic systems.
The topics cover: Newtonian mechanics and gravity; The gravitational two-body problem;
Keplerian orbits; Kepler`s Iaws; Orbital parameters; Kepler`s equation and its solutions; Rotating reference frames and associated forces; Lagrangian mechanics; Three-body problem; Perturbation theory; Hamiltonian theory with selected examples; Numerical integrations of planetary sytems.
