Course Content

This course covers selected topics from the history of Latin america. It mainly focuses on the revolutionary process and popular struggles; yet it relatedly deals with, colonialism, foreign intervention, class domination, racial discrimination, as well as military and authoritarian regimes. By examining various experiences pertaining to different countries of the region, it tries to trace not only common but also diverging historical origins, cultural roots and political processes inside the region. Analysis the regional history through selected topics also enable students to get familiar to the complex issues of the region by grasping their historical context.
