Course Content

This course aims to facilitate an understanding of the general outlines of the `flamenco culture` and art, recognized as European Cultural Heritage, and to enable students to experience its musical elements. Students taking this course will learn about the development process of flamenco, the influences of different cultures, historical connections, the characteristics of its fundamental elements (Dance, Song, Music), basic rhythmic structures, and how to accompany them. They will also be able to distinguish different types of songs, and learn about significant artists and their major works that have shaped the history of flamenco.
