Course Content

Human beings have been telling stories since the beginning of time, be it oral, written or visual. Therefore, we actually tell/pass on/create stories every day, sometimes without even realizing it. ýn this course about short fiction, we will be studying two specific literary genres, the short story and the novella, and you will be given tools that will help you turn an idea into a constructed story. Enjoying the process will be of utmost importance for us creators along tine way, There will be a serious amount of reading in order to help you explore not onlv the theory, but also tine practice of short stories. You will also start developing your own craft early on and build it up slowly but steadily with line help of the written assignments as well as various outside-class practice suggestions.
