Overview of hydrodynamic systems, overview of data collection in hydrodynamic systems, Fundamentals of data; Parameters and their importance; Needs, benefits and techniques of data collection; Reliability of data, Worldwide network on ocean monitoring and data collection; Data searching strategies, Marine data formats; integrated data formats, station data and gridded data domains, Data categorization and management principles; Scientific metadata and general metadata standards and formats; Bathymetric and topographic data processing, searching and processing relief data, Computational tools, Typical examples and applications with different computational tools, Specific applications for mapping with meta data, Utilization of data in all aspects of hydrodynamics, river, coastal and ocean engineering; Case studies.
