Course Content
Elastic and inelastic behavior with reference to soils and review of relevant material; yield criteria, simple elasto-plastic constitutive models, Coulomb criterion and modifications; plastic flow, strain hardening, Cambridge and other advanced soil models; collapse load theorems, lower and upper bound solutions; review of relevant finite element method procedures, formulation of seepage and consolidation; analytical and numerical applications in geotechnical engineering.
