Course Content
Exploring and developing strategic competence with numbers and quantities. Developing meanings for numbers in different bases and patterns for counting in different bases. Evolving understanding of students’ mathematical thinking through engaging in productive mathematical activities on counting, multi-digit addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with whole numbers in different bases. Using invented strategies to develop standard computational algorithm (SCA) for basic operations with whole numbers and fractions.
