Course Content

Algebraic thinking. the importance of algebraic thinking in teaching mathematics; developing an understanding of concepts involving generalized arithmetic. functional thinking. variable. equality. expressions. equations. identities. and inequalities; different representations in teaching algebra.
Basic concepts about probability. types of probability. probability simulations and probability distributions; data collection. organizing. representing and analyzing data; the concept of probability distribution. frequency distribution. teaching measures of central tendency and measures of variability. Preparing lesson content. using appropriate teaching techniques and materials; understanding and interpreting student thinking in relation to these concepts; understanding student difficulties. errors. misconceptions and the reasons behind them; the relation of these topics with real life and other courses.
