Course Content
The course coded 6302, Developmental Interventions with Children and Parents, aims to teach interventions designed to support the language, cognitive, and social development of infants, children, and adolescents.
These interventions broadly cover the following areas: parenting, as the most fundamental area; the developmental processes of low-birth-weight infants; sign-based communication with newborns; maternal sensitivity; joint attention; language development; reading acquisition; adolescent problems; bullying; and the quality of care in orphanages.
This course will cover interventions to enhance the language, cognitive and social development of infants, children and adolescents. Following intervention topics are the focus of this course: language development, reading acquisition, joint attention, low birth weight infants, infant sign interventions, maternal sensitivity, adolescent problems, bullying, orphanage care quality and parenting.
