Course Content
Overview of evolutionary, developmental, and social aspects of human emotions. Review of different theories of emotions. Examining the functions of emotions; universality and/or culture specific aspects of emotions. Age and gender differences in basic emotions, and emotion regulations strategies. The relationship among emotion, behavior, and cognition. Emotions, health and mental health. Working with emotions in psychological counseling.
