Course Content
First and second language acquisition theories; the role of age in language acquisition; the nature of learner language; L2 developmental patterns; error analysis in L2; the role of L1 in L2 acquisition; cognitive accounts of L2 acquisition; social factors influencing L2 development; the role of input and interaction in L2 development; individual differences (personality traits, language aptitude, memory, motivation, attitudes); bilingual language acquisition in children and adults.
