Course Content
This course introduces students to a series of ethical challenges currently facing the corporate world by taking a historical look at the proponents and critics of capitalism as well as the role of business and businesspersons in civil society. Building on the work of a wide variety of authors presented in the textbook for the course. we discuss and debate recent business crises and other disquieting trends in the corporate world. Implications for developing ethics policies are considered. This course examines the foundations of moral reasoning and the analysis of ethical issues that arise in a wide range of contemporary business practices, both domestically and globally. The central aim of the course is to enable students to develop a framework through which to recognize, analyze, and address challenges as they arise in their careers. The course also involves an evaluation of the institutions that structure the interaction of corporations and individuals in the conduct of business
