Course Content
This undergraduate course seeks to examine the key aspects of modern diplomacy by exploring its key concepts, institutions and forms in global politics. The course starts with an examination of diplomacy as a concept and its historical evolution. Next,it introduces the organization of diplomatic service in modern states as well as the functions of diplomats in contemporary world politics. Afterwards, it explores the types of diplomatic correspondence as well as diplomatic methods in bilateral and multilateral platforms. The course concludes by examining specialized forms of diplomacy in security, finance, trade, energy, environment, cyber and science.
