Course Content
This course aims to provide a comprehensive introduction to the principles and practices of labour law, examining the legal framework that governs the employment relationship and the rights and obligations of employers and employees. The course will begin by exploring the fundamental concepts and principles of labour law, including the sources of law, the scope of labour law, and the nature of the employment relationship. The course will then examine the legal aspects of the employment contract, including the formation, variation, and termination of employment contracts, and the legal consequences of breach of contract. The course will also analyze the laws and regulations related to wages, working hours, leave entitlements, and other terms and conditions of employment, and their impact on the rights and obligations of employers and employees. The course will provide an overview of the legal framework for collective bargaining, trade unions, and industrial action, examining the role of these institutions in shaping labour relations and the legal constraints on their activities.
