Course Content
The goal of this course is to overview the current solutions and Technologies on interoperability in medicial domain. Almost all applications of health informatics such as tele-homecare, mobil health, travel health, or simply integration of information systems (IS)- bling and accounting, order entry systems, laboratory IS, radiology IS- completely rely on data excahange among parties without loss of meaning or information. Several international and national organizations such as ISO, CEN, NLM, OpenEHR, IHTSDO and HL7, work on different standards addressing different aspects of health interoperability problems. These standards and principles are necessary components for an interoperable healthcare system to support safety and quality of care. The course focuses on modern applications of interoperability concepts and principles on devices and health information systems, with stress to their stronger and weaker aspects.
