Course Content
Characteristics of early age language learners (5-12 years) and learners of other ages (in terms of learning language structure, skills and sub-skills), difference between young learners and other age groups, misconceptions about young learner foreign language learning, learning styles (visual, auditory and affective) and strategies of early age learners (eg metacognition, cognition, socio-cognitive); trends in teaching English to young learners, children with special needs, child abuse, bullying, and parent education; task based learning, lesson planning for young learners, syllabus and materials for , and classroom management and classroom safety; reforms and innovations addressing young learners in Turkish education system.
