Course Content
Fundamental seismology concepts. Characteristics of strong ground motions, ground motion measures, directivity, site, path and source region effects. Ground motion prediction equations, development, variability and regional effects. Selection and scaling of ground motions. Probabilistic seismic demand models. Integrating seismic demand models into hazard calculations, vector hazard concept. Scenario based design spectrum.
