MINOR PROGRAM(S) IN INDUSTRIAL DESIGN

Minor Program in Product Design

Industrial Design Department’s minor program introduces students to design concepts and explores the impact of design on cultural values and industry. The program includes the act of valuation as a tool for decision making and human-product interaction. The aim is to introduce the concepts of design thinking within the context of competition and technological developments. Particular attention is paid to how design can benefit an organization and its effects on overall strategic plan. Product development is considered from perspectives of methodology, creativity, strategic planning, and human-centered design.
