Course Content
This course aims to offer a discussion of political, economic and social forces that shape Latin America.While this course introduces the historical context of Latin Amerika following it from the last Amerindian civilization, through the years of Iberian consolidation and expansion, to the emergence of colonial societies, ending with the independence struggles of the early nineteenth century,it also focused on modernization and democratization processes.In this sense, this course strives to underline divergent paths of modernization and democratization by situation Latin Amerika in its specific historical context.Regarding the rapid economic and political development of Latin Amerika together with a democratization process,this course also aims to present a discussion of future trends of Latin Amerika.
